THE POSITION
As a Legal Office Administrator 2 with the Office of State Inspector General, you will support high-level legal operations and ensure the office works in a coordinated and efficient way. This role gives you the opportunity to guide office procedures, support senior leaders, and help manage sensitive and detailed legal work. Join us to play a key part in improving processes, supporting attorneys, and organizing essential tasks.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports legal operations and administrative functions that help the Office of Chief Counsel work effectively. It oversees procedures, workflow planning, and coordination that strengthen legal services across the agency. As a Legal Office Administrator 2, you will perform the following duties:
  • Office Oversight: Review policies, analyze operations, and develop procedures that improve workflow
  • Executive Coordination: Organize schedules, gather information, and support daily activities for the Chief Counsel
  • Legal Staffing Support: Coordinate hiring steps, arrange workspace needs, and assist with training requirements
  • Correspondence Management: Draft, proofread, and finalize letters, reports, and guidance for agency and public communication
  • Operational Analysis: Assess office processes, recommend improvements, and manage confidential issues
  • Project Leadership: Conduct studies, prepare reports, support budgeting tasks, and complete special assignments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Travel may be required to a regional office once a year.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Legal Office Administrator 1, OGC (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of professional administrative experience within a public or private legal office.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must have one year of experience in analyzing and summarizing documents data.
  • You must have one year of experience handling and maintaining confidential records and prepare legal documents or investigative summaries.
  • You must have one year of experience in strategic planning.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience handling confidential investigative documents or law enforcement materials
  • Notary experience
Legal Requirements:
  • The candidate will have access to law enforcement data, which requires all employees with access to agency systems to undergo fingerprinting and an in-depth background check to include criminal, tax, and credit history.
