Legal Office Services Specialist

Location: New York, NY 10022 Pay Rate: $20.41โ€“$21/hr, paid weekly Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday | 9:00 AMโ€“6:00 PM Duration: Approximately 2 months | Leave of Absence Coverage Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Overview

The Legal Office Services Specialist will support daily office operations within a professional legal environment. This position is primarily focused on customer service, mailroom support, hospitality, and general office services, with additional responsibilities involving copy, print, scanning, and reception.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and experience working in a professional, customer-facing environment. Previous law firm or legal office experience is highly preferred. Mail and print responsibilities can be trained.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service to employees, clients, visitors, and internal departments.
  • Receive, sort, distribute, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Assist with hospitality services, meeting room preparation, and maintaining professional common areas.
  • Support copy, print, scanning, and document production requests.
  • Provide reception and front-office coverage as needed.
  • Operate standard office machines and technical equipment.
  • Organize and prioritize daily service requests to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate filing, records, and office documentation.
  • Assist with general administrative and office support duties as assigned.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and follow workplace procedures and service standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1โ€“2 years of related professional experience or equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service or customer-facing experience required.
  • Previous law firm or legal office experience strongly preferred.
  • Copy, print, mailroom, reception, or office services experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Basic mathematical and filing skills.
  • Comfortable operating office machines and technical equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
