Legal Document Reviewer:
As a Legal Document Reviewer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of legal documents before they are filed in court and agreements before they are executed. You will use your attention to detail to help our team maintain a high level of clarity and professionalism in our written production. If you are ready, we have an awesome opportunity for you in our corporate office in Bethesda, MD, a couple of city blocks from the Bethesda Metro.
An average day in this position may include:
• Reviewing court filings drafted by our litigation team for errors and ensuring that these documents are properly prepared for filing.
• Analyzing case dockets to determine whether the correct course of action is being taken by members of the litigation team.
• Reviewing drafted settlement agreements to ensure that they satisfy all requested settlement terms.
• Assisting the Senior Paralegal with managing the flow of documents to be reviewed and filed, and responding to high-priority items with a sense of urgency.
• Aiding in the development of Legal Assistants by identifying any repeated mistakes and room for growth in their work and providing them with constructive feedback.
Successful Legal Document Reviewer Candidates Have:
• Must be a licensed attorney in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, preferably Maryland
• Immaculate attention to detail and precision in your written communication.
• Working knowledge of or are capable of quickly learning how to use MS Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as office equipment such as a scanner, fax, and copy machine.
• You are comfortable taking direction from others and working in a team environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrate the ability to weigh multiple factors in order to find the best way to solve a problem.
• You are flexible and adaptable to diverse cultures.
• You have a proven ability to plan and organize effectively, identify and correct errors, capture all of the relevant details, and get things done on time.
• You are able to develop and manage relationships, including effectively presenting information to and responding to inquiries and requests from all internal and external stakeholders.
• You succeed in dynamic environments that require balancing competing priorities, meeting critical deadlines and adapting to change.
