Legacy Lab Assistants are professionals who support laboratory operations, particularly in labs that use older or traditional equipment, processes, or data systems. Their primary responsibilities include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting with experiments, and managing samples and data records. They often help bridge the gap between outdated technologies and modern lab practices by ensuring accurate record-keeping and facilitating the transition to newer systems. Legacy Lab Assistants play a critical role in preserving the continuity and reliability of lab operations during periods of change or system upgrades.

To thrive as a Legacy Lab Assistant, you need a solid understanding of laboratory procedures, data management, and basic scientific principles, often supported by an associate's or bachelor's degree in a science-related field. Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), standard lab equipment, and safety protocols is typically required.
