EMC has since expanded beyond lighting into smart buildings and IoT devices, system integration, custom product development, energy analytics and disinfection technologies.

Job Summary:

The Solutions Manager position executes the evaluation, recommendation and selection of lighting solutions for upcoming projects, along with creation of project proposals and supporting documentation. The Solutions Manager provides team direction and accountability for a variety of project proposal requirements including field audits, rebate incentives, material and labor costs, competitive pricing, and the management of timelines and deliverables. The Solutions Manager leads communication with internal EMC teams, business partners and clients during the execution of these proposal activities.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with EMC teams to qualify customer opportunities and EMC's ability to provide a successful solution
  • Identify and select Best-In-Class lighting technologies and solutions for upcoming projects
  • Engage EMC Teams (Sales, Customer Solutions, Sourcing, Finance, Operations) to obtain relevant information for creating project proposals
  • Build quotes and proposals remotely as needed
  • Manage proposal timelines and quality, along with overall customer expectations
  • Provide progress updates to project team as needed
  • Support RFP efforts from Solutions perspective
  • Assist with utility incentives and EPAct 2005 preparation for specific proposals/projects
  • Provide consistent responses and quality service to internal and external customers
  • Proactive identification and resolution of issues as they arise
  • Provide leadership on the multiple customer opportunities concurrently.
  • Execute project proposal package hand-off of awarded project to EMC Project Manager and provide support to ensure successful project implementation
  • Support sales as the Subject Matter Expert when proposals are presented to the client
  • Attend industry and job training programs
  • Improve and develop knowledge of lighting and controls technology.
  • Obtain industry recognized certifications
  • Become a cross-functional resource on the Solutions Management team to assist with both lighting design and audit functions
  • Travel to project sites to determine scope of work and conduct audits as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel used for tracking and analysis
  • Detail-orientated, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and hold project team accountable
  • Ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Knowledge of lighting and/or electrical products


Education:

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree


Experience Required:

  • Lighting/electrical contracting/installation experience
  • Project management, estimating and customer service experience


Experience Preferred/Other Qualifications:

  • Commercial construction experience a plus


Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds
  • Potential for up to 30-50% travel
