Covia is looking for a dynamic Learning & Development Coordinator. Based at Covia’s Independence, Ohio, corporate headquarters, reporting to the Manager, Talent Development, this role closely partners with the Covia Human Resources team, organizational subject matter experts (SMEs), and external partners to support the organization’s talent development and learning objectives. The key responsibilities of this individual contributor are to partner with the business to identify, develop, and deploy engaging learning solutions; provide support for Covia’s learning management system (LMS); and evaluate and utilize technology and AI-enabled tools.

 

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the business to identify, develop, and deploy engaging learning solutions
    • Utilizing adult learning principles and instructional design best practices, coordinate the full lifecycle of content creation and instructional design including needs analysis, content curation, asset development, deployment, communication, reporting, and evaluation
    • Collaborate with SMEs across the organization to build new training, transform existing content, and curate third-party solutions with a focus on learner experience and engagement
    • Develop materials across a variety of formats including interactive e-learning modules, how-to guides, microlearning assets, facilitator slide decks, participant guides, videos, etc. to support a diverse range of delivery methods and initiatives
    • Routinely evaluate and improve learning solutions based on data, feedback, and evolving business needs
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and high-quality standards
  • Provide support for Covia’s learning management system (LMS)
    • Serve as an administrator for Covia’s LMS (UKG Pro Learning, “Polaris”) with a commitment to responsive, high-quality customer service for all users
    • Support all system functions including asset cataloging, management, reporting, metrics, training, notifications, etc.
  • Evaluate and utilize technology and AI-enabled tools
    • Proactively identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to leverage technology, with a focus on AI-enabled tools, to enhance the quality and efficiency of how we develop and deploy learning and other Talent Development initiatives

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workshops, learning events, and other Talent Development programming
  • Assist with performance management processes (goal planning, check-ins, reviews, organizational talent planning) including HRIS administration
  • Ensure available Talent Development materials are updated, branded appropriately, and free from errors
  • Document, conduct periodic reviews of, and recommend updates to systems, technology, tools, best practices, and work processes
  • Provide partnership and support to the Human Resources team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others, have a customer focus, and work under minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail, creative thinking, decision-making skills, and flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions
  • Experience developing learning, creating content, and working with a learning management system
  • Experience in corporate or organizational learning environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • LMS and/or HRIS administration experience
  • Knowledge of content creation, adult learning principles, instructional design, and project management
  • Proficiency with media (audio, video, e-learning) design and editing tools
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual (Latin American Spanish and/or Canadian French)
  • Familiarity with AI, Copilot, Articulate 360, UKG Pro, UKG Pro Learning, Schoox
