Job description

Refrigeration Market Leader – Drive Opportunity. Win New Business. Strengthen Contractor Partnerships.

Tropic Supply is seeking a Refrigeration Market Leader who excels at building trusted relationships and enjoys actively opening new doors. This role is ideal for someone who supports contractors with knowledge and care, yet brings the energy to expand a territory, introduce solutions to new prospects, and help customers discover why Tropic is the partner they can rely on for the long run.

For over 50 years, Tropic Supply has supported Florida’s refrigeration professionals with dependable products, practical expertise, and a culture built on trust, service, and deep relationships. Contractors count on us because we show up consistently, understand their world, and treat every interaction with purpose.

Why This Role Matters

This is not a transactional sales role. At Tropic, our Territory Sales Managers operate as Market Leaders, trusted by contractors and respected across the industry for their expertise, relationships, and consistent follow-through. Refrigeration contractors face challenging schedules, complex installs, and urgent service needs. They depend on knowledgeable partners who respond quickly, communicate clearly, and help them stay ahead. As a Refrigeration Market Leader, you will be that partner, the person they trust for answers, support, and dependable follow-through.

Your work will strengthen existing customer loyalty and introduce Tropic’s value to new prospects across your market. You will play a key role in shaping territory strategy, uncovering opportunities, expanding reach, and supporting Tropic’s continued growth throughout Florida.

What You Will Do

Lead Your Territory with Engagement, Insight, and Growth Initiative

  • Build, deepen, and expand long-term relationships with refrigeration contractors and key stakeholders
  • Spend full days in the field meeting current customers, engaging new prospects, and supporting Resource Center teams
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities by understanding contractor needs, project timelines, and market activity
  • Consult with contractors to recommend effective refrigeration solutions that support their operational goals
  • Collaborate closely with Refrigeration Support Specialists to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive quotations
  • Provide hands-on training and support to Resource Center teams to strengthen local refrigeration knowledge
  • Participate in vendor-led training sessions for internal staff and customers
  • Share real-time market insights with the Refrigeration Product Manager to support inventory planning and strengthen strategy
  • Work with purchasing, marketing, and operations to elevate Tropic’s market presence and drive overall territory performance

This role blends relationship-building with strategic outreach and consistent market development, ensuring current contractors feel supported while new customers discover Tropic for the first time.

Who Thrives in This Role

This opportunity is designed for a sales professional who enjoys earning customer trust and growing a market through initiative, curiosity, and consistent engagement.

You will excel here if you:

  • Have experience in refrigeration, HVACR, or technical B2B sales
  • Enjoy being in the field meeting contractors and pursuing new opportunities
  • Understand the value of consistent visits, meaningful conversations, and proactive outreach
  • Can identify gaps in service, upcoming projects, or contractor pain points and offer solutions that matter
  • Stay informed on refrigeration products, components, and applications
  • Communicate clearly, follow up reliably, and bring positive energy to every interaction
  • Support Resource Center teams with the same commitment you give customers
  • Feel motivated by winning new business while strengthening existing relationships

The Tropic Way – Our Values at Work

Trust – We provide dependable, resourceful solutions
Relationships – We focus on long-term partnerships, not transactions
Own It – We take responsibility from start to finish
Positive Attitude – We create uplifting experiences for customers and teammates
Integrity – We do what is right, every time
Considerate – We treat every person with respect and humility

These values guide how we earn new business and how we keep it.

Meet Your Leader – Bobby Burnett, Director of Refrigeration Sales

My name is Bobby Burnett, and I am the Director of Refrigeration Sales at Tropic Supply, where I specialize in training, empowering and supporting our Refrigeration sales and support teams. I know the challenges that poor communication with supervisors can create so I strive to always be available to talk, visit and support my team. One of my favorite parts of my job is brainstorming with our team the potential solutions that we can offer to customers to grow our business. A strong believer in life-long learning, I am passionate about helping our team reach greater success by equipping them with the knowledge and confidence that they need to bring value to their customers and prospects. I have personally seen the power that positivity has in the workplace, and I consistently use humor in my interactions with our team and customers to promote stronger relationships. If you love the thrill of outside sales, enjoy continually learning and solving problems while bringing fun and positive energy into the workplace, I will enjoy working with you!

What We Offer

  • 100 percent employer-paid health and life insurance
  • Zero copay, zero deductible, zero cost on prescriptions
  • Dental and vision plans
  • 401(k) program with company match
  • Short- and long-term disability
  • Paid time off
  • A people-first culture built on loyalty and long-term relationships
  • A strong reputation that helps open doors with contractors across your market

Take the Lead in a Territory Built on Trust and Growth

If you are energized by building meaningful relationships, supporting contractors, engaging new prospects, and expanding a market with purpose and professionalism, we would love to speak with you. Join a company that values loyalty, partnership, and the impact you make every day.
