Description:
Provides visionary leadership for grades 612 instructional programs to ensure high levels of student achievement, equitable learning opportunities, and college, career, military, and workforce readiness. Leads district efforts in curriculum, instruction, assessment, intervention, professional learning, educational technology integration, and continuous improvement for secondary schools. Collaborates with building administrators, teachers, families, and community partners to advance district strategic goals and improve outcomes for all learners.
Serves as a key member of the district leadership team and supports implementation of federal, state, and local educational initiatives.

Leadership and Strategic Planning
Provide leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and intervention programs in grades 612.
Support implementation of the district strategic plan and continuous improvement process.
Lead initiatives that promote academic excellence, equity, and student achievement.
Collaborate with secondary principals to monitor instructional effectiveness and school improvement efforts.
Analyze student performance data and develop strategies to improve academic outcomes.
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of district policies and procedures related to teaching and learning.
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Lead curriculum development, revision, alignment, and implementation consistent with Ohio Learning Standards.
Ensure instructional practices reflect current research, evidence-based strategies, and best practices.
Coordinate district assessment systems and support data-informed instructional decision making.
Monitor implementation and effectiveness of intervention programs and MTSS structures.
Support curriculum adoption processes, instructional resources, and digital learning tools.
Promote innovative instructional practices including personalized learning and artificial intelligence literacy.
Professional Learning and Staff Development
Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers, instructional staff, and administrators.
Support instructional coaching and collaborative learning structures.
Develop leadership capacity among instructional staff.
Support implementation and monitoring of professional learning communities (PLCs)/teacher-based teams (TBTs).
Promote continuous professional growth aligned with district instructional priorities.
Student Achievement and Secondary Success
Coordinate efforts related to graduation requirements, academic pathways, career technical opportunities, and college readiness.
Support implementation of Advanced Placement, College Credit Plus, gifted services, intervention programs, and other specialized instructional programs.
Monitor student achievement trends and collaborate with building leadership to address performance gaps.
Support initiatives focused on attendance, engagement, and postsecondary success.
Compliance and Program Management
Serve as District Test Coordinator or supervise testing operations.
Ensure compliance with federal and state educational requirements.
Oversee assigned grants and categorical funding programs.
Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
Prepare reports and presentations for the Superintendent, Board of Education, and external agencies.
Communication and Collaboration
Serve as liaison between the district and educational agencies, community organizations, institutions of higher education, and professional organizations.
Foster positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community stakeholders.
Maintain confidentiality regarding personnel, student, and district information.
Represent the district at meetings, conferences, and public events.
Additional Responsibilities
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Qualifications
Master's degree required; educational specialist or doctoral degree preferred.
Valid Ohio administrative licensure.
Minimum of five years successful teaching experience.
Successful administrative leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
Experience leading school improvement initiatives.
Valid driver's license.
