Job description

SAT Tutor (Part-Time)

True Learning Prep | Katy & Houston, TX

About the Role

True Learning Prep is seeking passionate and knowledgeable SAT tutors to help high school students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and achieve their target SAT scores. Tutors will provide individualized instruction in the Digital SAT, focusing on both content mastery and effective test-taking strategies.

This is a hybrid position with flexible scheduling. Tutoring sessions may be conducted in person or online, depending on student needs. In-person sessions take place in Katy, Houston, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Digital SAT Reading & Writing and/or Math to high school students.
  • Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student's strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles.
  • Teach effective pacing, problem-solving techniques, and test-taking strategies.
  • Assign and review practice questions and full-length practice tests.
  • Track student progress and communicate feedback as needed.
  • Maintain a professional, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum SAT score of 1450 or ACT score of 32.
  • Strong mastery of SAT Reading & Writing and/or Math content.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and professional.
  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from a college or university is preferred but not required.

Training & Curriculum

  • A structured SAT curriculum and teaching materials will be provided.
  • Training and onboarding will be provided as needed to ensure tutors are well-prepared to deliver high-quality instruction.
