A learning manager creates training opportunities for employees who want to focus on skills development and job advancement. As a learning manager, your duties include assessing the needs of a company or organization, planning training programs, and working with third-party educators to meet the company’s needs. You may also assist employees seeking to change their career path. Qualifications for the job vary depending on employer needs, but you typically need a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or a similar field and relevant work experience.
| Aspect | Learning Manager | Training Coordinator |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR, or related field; often requires experience in learning and development | Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or related field; certifications like ATD or CPTD are common |
| Work Environment | Oversees learning programs across departments, strategic planning, manages teams | Coordinates training sessions, schedules, and logistics, often works directly with trainers and employees |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Used in corporate, educational, and nonprofit sectors for strategic learning initiatives | Common in corporate settings for organizing and implementing training activities |
The Learning Manager focuses on developing and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies, while the Training Coordinator handles the logistics and execution of training sessions. Both roles are essential in employee development but differ in scope and responsibilities.

Job Title: Learning Manager
Location:USA, Remote.
Candidates must be based in the Eastern or Central time zones, with preference for candidates in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, or the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
Salary:$72,000 - $78,000 p.a. Full-time equivalent, dependent on experience
Basis: Permanent contract. Full-time, part-time or flexible
Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the USA
The role
We are looking to recruit an experienced educator to join the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The role will contribute to the development of high-quality educational materials and professional learning experiences across our programmes for young people aged 8 to 18.
You will have a background in computing science education or a closely related field, with a track record of having created curricula, resources, learning experiences, or teacher professional development activities.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning applications are already changing many aspects of our lives. Young people who understand how AI works will be better equipped to engage with the world around them, make informed decisions about using and creating AI applications, and choose what role AI will play in their futures.
A central part of this role will be supporting and advancing Experience AI, an educational program that offers cutting-edge resources on artificial intelligence and machine learning for teachers and students aged 8-18. Developed in collaboration by the Raspberry Pi Foundation and Google DeepMind, Experience AI supports teachers in this exciting and fast-moving area of AI and gets young people passionate about the subject. You will play a key role in adapting, delivering, and scaling this program in the US, while contributing to its ongoing development.
This is a remote role with a national scope. Our US team is primarily based in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, and the Twin Cities, Minnesota, so we have a preference for candidates based in or near those areas. We are also open to candidates elsewhere in the Eastern or Central time zones. The role will involve periodic travel to meet with colleagues and partners across the country.
We work hard to make sure that the Foundation is a place where everyone is supported to do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you're the right person for the job, we'll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you'll be joining an exceptional team of people who care about our mission and each other.
Responsibilities
Experience and personal attributes
We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth. We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not necessarily all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here.
About us
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is an independent nonprofit with a global mission to enable young people to realize their full potential through the power of computer science and digital technologies. In the US we operate through Raspberry Pi Foundation North America which is a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
We empower schools to teach computing and AI literacy through free curricula, classroom resources, purpose built software tools, and professional development for teachers. We inspire young people to become tech creators through the world's largest networks of coding clubs. We undertake original research that informs our work and which we use to advance the field of computer science education more broadly.
All of our resources and learning experiences are available for anyone to use at no cost. We are particularly focused on creating opportunities for young people who experience educational disadvantage and those who come from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in technology industries.
Over the past decade, we have supported hundreds of thousands of educators and tens of millions of students. We have teams in six countries (India, Ireland, Kenya, South Africa, the UK and US) and partnerships with mission-aligned non-profit organisations in over 60 countries.
We are at the forefront of the global educational movement to expand access to computer science education and AI literacy. You can learn more about our work in our latest Annual Report.
Benefits
In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a range of benefits for all of our colleagues, including:
Timetable for applications
Closing date: 28 September 2026, 9.00am ET

Our recruitment process
All of our workplaces are inclusive spaces where we want people to feel respected, valued, and able to do their best work. We are committed to building teams that bring together people with a broad range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. That starts with our recruitment process.
Here's what you can expect:
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Everyone appointed to a role at the Foundation will be required to undergo a background check to confirm that you are a suitable person to work with children. Further background checks will be made at regular intervals thereafter.
