Job description

Sigmatech is seeking an experienced Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to join our team support the USSF EPME Academy on Peterson SFB, CO

Overview

The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator will join the dynamic Digital Learning team supporting the USSF EPME. This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, configuration, and continuous improvement of the organization's Learning Management System and supporting educational technologies.

The LMS Administrator serves as the primary technical resource for online learning operations by managing users, courses, enrollments, permissions, reporting, integrations, and system performance. Working closely with instructional designers, faculty, IT professionals, and Government stakeholders, this position ensures the LMS provides a secure, reliable, and user-friendly learning environment that supports resident, blended, and online education programs.

Duties Include

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure maximum availability and performance.
  • Create, organize, and maintain courses, learning paths, catalogs, curricula, certifications, and learning resources.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, organizational structures, security roles, and enrollment workflows.
  • Import, publish, test, and maintain SCORM, xAPI, AICC, and other learning content packages.
  • Configure course completion requirements, assessments, surveys, certificates, badging, and automated notifications.
  • Monitor LMS performance, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate resolution with vendors and technical support personnel.
  • Develop and maintain LMS documentation, standard operating procedures, and administrator guides.
  • Provide technical support and customer service to instructors, students, administrators, and Government personnel.
  • Deliver LMS orientation and training sessions for instructors, faculty, and administrative staff.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute reports on student enrollment, course completion, certifications, and learning analytics.
  • Monitor system usage, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance the learner experience.
  • Coordinate annual course reviews and archive outdated learning materials while maintaining historical records.
  • Support integration with enterprise systems including Student Information Systems (SIS), identity management solutions, Microsoft 365, virtual classroom platforms, and other educational technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, cybersecurity requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, change management activities, and new feature implementation.
  • Assist instructional designers and multimedia developers with technical aspects of online course delivery.
  • Research emerging LMS capabilities and recommend improvements that increase automation, efficiency, and learning effectiveness.
  • Support Government accreditation, inspection, and audit activities by maintaining accurate educational records and documentation.
  • Maintain data integrity through routine system audits, quality assurance checks, and database maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, instructional design, and Government stakeholders to continuously improve digital learning operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience administering Learning Management Systems in an enterprise or higher education environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Instructional Technology, Education, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience administering one or more enterprise LMS platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Cornerstone, Docebo, SuccessFactors, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of SCORM, xAPI, LTI, AICC, learning standards, and online course deployment.
  • Experience managing user accounts, permissions, enrollments, and organizational hierarchies.
  • Knowledge of learning analytics, reporting tools, dashboards, and data management.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating with software vendors.
  • Working knowledge of identity management systems, Single Sign-On (SSO), CAC authentication, Active Directory, or Azure Active Directory.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • International/Domestic Travel may be required (less than 10%).

 


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or United States Space Force educational environments.
  • Experience administering Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, SQL reporting, or business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with Learning Record Stores (LRS) and xAPI analytics.
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted LMS environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Cloud One).
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity requirements, RMF, NIST 800-53, and Section 508 accessibility compliance.
  • Experience supporting large-scale online education programs with thousands of users.
  • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Experience supporting virtual classroom technologies such as Microsoft Teams, ZoomGov, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and the learner experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and emerging educational technologies.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role $85,000 to $95,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location, and often contractual requirements. 

This is a contingent position at the time of this posting.  Funding is expected NLT 1 Sep 26.
