A key initiative within this effort is Catalyst, a multi-year transformation to modernize our core origination and servicing platform and enable scalable, efficient, and intuitive workflows.

About the Role

We're seeking a Lead Designer, User Experience Design to play a critical role in shaping experiences within Catalyst. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on designing complex, end-to-end workflows that support internal users across the loan lifecycle.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate complex systems into intuitive, scalable experiences. This role combines strong execution with ownership, requiring the ability to influence decisions, simplify complexity, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver end-to-end user experiences across complex operational workflows

  • Simplify highly integrated systems into intuitive, efficient, and scalable designs

  • Drive measurable outcomes through data-informed design decisions and iteration

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Operations to influence decisions and align on solutions

  • Design within a regulated environment, balancing usability with compliance requirements

  • Contribute to and extend design systems to ensure consistency across experiences

  • Ensure accessibility and inclusive design standards are met

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, or related fields

  • Proven experience designing end-to-end experiences across complex systems or workflows

  • Strong systems thinking and ability to simplify complex problems

  • Experience influencing product and engineering decisions in cross-functional environments

  • Experience working in Agile or similar delivery models

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience using AI-powered tools in day-to-day design work and applying sound judgment to identify where AI can add meaningful value to user experiences and team workflows.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing internal tools, operational platforms, or workflow-based systems

  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries

  • Experience working within platform-based ecosystems

  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools or emerging technologies

Location

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to our office located in Baltimore, MD, with expectations of being in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.


Salary
Target base salary range for Baltimore, MD is $150k-$165k, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
