Job description

Position Title: MSDE Qualified Lead Teacher
Primary Age Group: Pre-K
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Compensation: Salary - Based on Baltimore County Teacher Pay Scale
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced MSDE Qualified Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The Lead Teacher will plan, direct, and implement age-appropriate activities that support the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of Pre-K children while preparing them for kindergarten through a play-based and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with the center's curriculum and MSDE standards.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Support children's learning, development, and daily care routines.
  • Observe and document children's progress and development.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and team members through the classroom management system.
  • Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom staff.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing and safety requirements.

Minimum Education Requirements
Must meet MSDE Lead Teacher qualifications, including one of the following:
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • MSDE Qualified Lead Teacher Certification

Minimum Experience Required
  • 10 years of experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education setting.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Certification.
  • Basic Health & Safety Certification.
  • Ability to meet Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) childcare licensing requirements.
