Job description

As a Talent Development Specialist, you will support learning and development initiatives within the Distribution and other divisions of Bunzl North America. In this role, you will help coordinate, and deliver impactful training, team building, and communication initiatives that drive employee performance, engagement, and growth.

You will partner closely with Human Resources (HR) and business leaders to ensure our talent development strategy is executed in alignment with business needs while enabling meaningful engagement experiences for employees across the organization.

This role is day shift, working out of our St. Louis, MO (Creve Coeur) office. You'll work mostly in the office but will have some flexibility to WFH 4-6 days per month. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the full-cycle nomination process for leadership development programs in alignment with leadership, HR, and the corporate Talent Engagement & Development team.
  • Own division-wide communications, including quarterly Town Hall webinars, Distribution Download, Bunzl of Joy, promotions, new employees, and retirements.
  • Create, schedule, manage, and facilitate employee engagement activities in the Cityplace office in partnership with BNA HR teams.
  • Administer onboarding and orientation materials, information, and trainings.
  • Own maintenance of development program ROI by gathering data, partnering to analyze the data and report on program effectiveness and performance data to business leaders.
  • Coordinate venue needs for training events, negotiate contracts as needed, and serve as the on-site liaison with venue staff.
  • Partner with leadership to intake competency needs, and partner with Talent Development Manager to recommend solutions to enhance workforce effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and support individual development plans for employees within the division.
  • Collaborate to build, deliver, and evaluate curriculum for corporate training and development programs in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Support in-house and virtual training programs, while coordinating additional learning initiatives delivered by external vendors.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in talent development, learning & development, or Human Resources (HR).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and monitor multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work comfortably with ambiguity.
  • Incredibly strong attention to detail & editing skills for companywide announcements and presentation edits.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal customers.
  • Strong employee and customer orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CoPilot.
  • Experience with virtual training platforms, including Microsoft Teams (required) and WebEx.
  • Ability to travel periodically, including occasional multi-night travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting field-based or multi-location teams.
  • Experience coordinating training programs or events.
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, and people management.
