Position Summary:
As a Para Pro, you will assist the lead teacher with planning lessons and instructing children in activities according to approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Assist Lead Teacher in the education, safety, and wellbeing of a classroom of 22 children.
  • Take on interchanging roles with Lead Teacher throughout the day as class moves through the curriculum from one activity to the next.
  • Assist in providing 6.5 hours of instructional time with a minimum of 180 days of class time and 10 days of teacher work days per contract year.
  • Attend Annual Professional Development Training as Required by Management

Qualifications:
  • Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience
  • Knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum
  • Knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations
  • Ability to obtain training in CPR/Fire Safety and other training required
  • Must be able to meet all state requirements for a Georgia Pre-k Assistant Teacher.

Requirements:
  • Enrolled PDS (Profession Development Registry System)
  • Verified in PDS that they are qualified to be a Georgia Pre-K Para Pro
  • Minimum of a CDA, TCC, two year ECE, or a Bachelor's degree in any field
