Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

We are seeking a creative and results-driven Instructional Designer to design and deliver high-quality learning solutions across our organization. In this role, you will partner with leadership, subject matter experts, and learners to develop impactful e-learning content, training programs, and instructional strategies that support organizational goals and workforce development.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about adult learning, curriculum design, LMS administration, and digital learning innovation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop engaging e-learning modules, online courses, and instructional materials for diverse audiences
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in instructional design, advising leaders on best practices and learning strategies
  • Collaborate with leaders and SMEs to create curriculum, templates, and training tools that support organizational initiatives
  • Manage and optimize the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), including course updates, reporting, and system enhancements
  • Develop interactive content, assessments, and learning evaluations to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Facilitate training through virtual learning, online tutorials, and just-in-time (JIT) training modules
  • Support program implementation, system assessments, and learning program evaluation
  • Provide technical support and guidance for e-learning tools and LMS functionality
  • Analyze assessment data and learner feedback to make recommendations for program enhancements and remediation
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve training processes, workflows, and learning experiences
  • Communicate project progress, outcomes, and insights to leadership
  • Maintain and update e-learning content, LMS courses, and internal learning platforms
  • Contribute to quarterly reports, annual summaries, and training metrics
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, prioritizing deadlines and resources

Minimum Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or training program implementation (healthcare or higher education preferred); OR Equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a graduate degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Expertise
  • Strong instructional design, adult learning theory, and curriculum development expertise
  • Advanced writing, editing, and technical communication skills
  • Experience creating interactive, engaging e-learning content
  • Proficiency with tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SCORM/AICC standards and e-learning authoring tools
  • Ability to function as an LMS expert, including course design, administration, and reporting
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders
  • Experience with evaluation methods, competency assessment, and learning analytics
