Job Description

Job Summary:

Intuitive is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Trainer to support the training and development of our sales team for both the da Vinci Surgical System and Ion Endoluminal System. This role is critical in ensuring our sales force is equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively communicate the value of our innovative robotic surgical and diagnostic technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Training

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert of Ion da Vinci® Surgical System and pre, intra and post procedure management
  • Maintain “expert” level certification of Ion and da Vinci® Surgical Systems, da Vinci® Instruments and Accessories, and da Vinci® Advanced Technology
  • Educate Intuitive Commercial employees to train and support their da Vinci® customers on:
    • da Vinci® Instruments and Accessories
    • da Vinci® Advanced Technology
    • da Vinci® Xi, da Vinci® X, and da Vinci® SP Surgical Systems
    • Ion Systems
  • Educate Intuitive Commercial employees on Ion andda Vinci® technical value propositions
  • Assess training participants technical competency

Clinical Training

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert across key specialties: general surgery, acute care, colorectal surgery, gynecologic surgery, thoracic surgery, and urology
  • Maintain “expert” level certification of Ion and da Vinci surgical procedure lectures
  • Educate Intuitive Commercial employees on relevant clinical procedures as part of sales training programs and initiatives
  • Educate Intuitive Commercial employees on Ion and da Vinci® clinical value propositions
  • Assess training participants clinical competency

Sales Training

  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on PDICE, Intuitive Clinical Sales Process and Sales Execution
  • Educate Intuitive Commercial employees on technical and clinical selling skills as part of sales training programs and initiatives
  • Assess training participants sales competency
  • Conduct routine field rides with field sales to diagnose common training needs

Training Execution

  • Facilitate live and remote training during onboarding and other sales training programs.  Ensure sales representatives receive both hands-on experience and immediate feedback to facilitate and validate learning transfer
  • Manage comprehensive training programs for Ion and da Vinci Surgical Systems
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and content creators to ensure training content is current and aligned with product updates and sales strategies
  • Utilize various instructional methods and technologies to enhance learning effectiveness and engagement

Sales Team Enablement

  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to the sales team to improve product knowledge and innovative selling techniques
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback to sales representatives to ensure continuous improvement and skill development

Program Management

  • Manage the logistics and execution of training sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and evaluation
  • Track and report on training program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Enablement teams to stay informed about product developments and market trends
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales team and other departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Design, plan, and execute Annual Commercial Meeting breakouts

Field Rides

  • Routinely accompany sales representatives in the field to provide real-time coaching and support during customer interactions
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must speak Portuguese 
  • Previous selling experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, life sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales and/or sales training, preferably in the medical device industry
  • In-depth knowledge of robotic surgical systems and endoluminal technologies is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs, with a focus on live facilitation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to support field training and attend company meetings

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target base compensation ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$118,900 - $171,100
Base Salary Range Region 2: $107,000 - $154,000
Shift: Day
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
