Technical Trainer | Data Centerย 

About the Roleย 


As aย CBRE Learning and Development Senior Analyst, you will partner with Data Center and Critical Environment business units toย identifyย technical learning needs and deliver scalable, highโ€impact training solutions. This roleย is responsible forย designing, developing, and deploying programs that prepareย data center technicians and lowโ€voltage professionalsย toย safely and consistently perform workย in live data center environments.ย 

This position sits within theย Talent, Learning & Developmentย function and supports CBREโ€™s operational excellence by ensuring technical staff are trained onย industry standards, best practices, and handsโ€on cabling methodologiesย used in missionโ€critical facilities.ย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Doย 


Technical Trainingย 

  • Serve as a technical learning ambassador by modeling behaviors aligned withย CBRE RISE values.ย 
  • Facilitate technical training programs and supportย onboarding forย data center technicians, with a strong emphasis onย lowโ€voltage and structured cabling systems.ย 
  • Responsible for teaching:ย 
  • Lowโ€voltage electrical fundamentals (copper and fiber)ย 
  • Pulling, routing, dressing, securing, and labeling structured cablingย 
  • Patching, crossโ€connecting, splicing, and termination (CAT5e/6/6A, fiber)ย 
  • Testing and certification using industryโ€standard test equipmentย 
  • Data center pathways, racks, cabinets, and ladder tray systemsย 
  • Safety practices for work in live data center environmentsย 
  • Conduct training assessments to evaluate technical skills and provide remediation and coachingย 
  • Develop training reportsย 

Content, Platforms & Standardsย 

  • Partner with subjectโ€matter experts (SMEs), field leadership, and operations teams toย validateย technical accuracy and relevance of training materials.ย 
  • Develop learning assets including instructorโ€led content, job aids, simulations, assessments, SOPs, and digital modules.ย 
  • Translate fieldโ€level processes intoย clear, repeatable, technicianโ€friendly training content.ย 
  • Ensure training content aligns withย industry standards and best practicesย (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSIย methodology, client requirements).ย 
  • Create evaluations and measurement tools to assess technician readiness, skill progression, and training effectiveness.ย 

Governance, Quality & Optimizationย 

  • Audit and evaluate learning programs to ensure consistent delivery, compliance, and quality across regions.ย 
  • Review training metrics, technician feedback, and performance outcomes to continuously improve content and delivery methods.ย 
  • Recommend and implement improved training strategies and delivery models toย optimizeย knowledge transfer from classroom to job site.ย 

Leadership & Collaborationย 

  • Support crossโ€functional initiatives by explaining complex technical concepts in clear, actionable terms.ย 
  • Impact both individual learner performance and broader team capability through standardized, repeatable training frameworks.ย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Needย 

Education & Experienceย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferredย orย equivalent combination of education and experience.ย 
  • 2โ€“5 years of handsโ€on experience with lowโ€voltage electrical and structured cabling work, including:ย 
  • Cable pulling and routingย 
  • Termination, splicing, and patchingย 
  • Testing and troubleshooting copper and/or fiber cablingย 
  • Direct experience working in dataย centerย or missionโ€critical environments strongly preferred.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft PowerPoint and Wordย 

Technical & Professional Skillsย 

  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, pathways, racks, and cabling standards.ย 
  • Ability to analyze technical workflows and translate them into structured learning solutions.ย 
  • Strong organizational and instructional design skills with attention to detail.ย

The minimum salary for the Associate Technical Trainer position is $80,000/ year and the maximum salary for the Associate Technical Trainer position is $85,000/ year. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
