Job Summary:

Nova Biomedical is seeking an experienced R&D Program Manager to join our Research & Development team in Waltham, Massachusetts supporting Clinical and Bio product portfolios. This role leads and coordinates business-critical R&D projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, and budgets. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-driven, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment managing complex, cross-functional technical programs with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage new product development and sustaining engineering projects across the full product lifecycle from inception through post-launch
  • Establish and manage project schedules, budgets, and priorities across multiple concurrent projects
  • Partner closely with Product Management to drive business-critical R&D initiatives supporting new and existing product portfolios
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans; escalate issues as needed
  • Ensure strict adherence to Nova’s Design Control and Stage Gate processes
  • Lead Ecosystem and Core Team meetings to drive alignment and collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Identify and resolve resource allocation challenges to ensure projects are properly staffed and delivered on time and within budget
  • Support resolution and escalation of R&D issues that may impact product approval or launch
  • Drive continuous improvement and support harmonization of PMO and Design Control processes
  • Mentor junior PMO team members and support development of best practices within the organization

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in medical device development with working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering systems
  • Demonstrated experience in program management or as a technical lead engineer in an R&D environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with clinical whole blood meters and blood gas analyzers preferred
  • Strong proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence
  • Experience in budget management, risk assessment, and strategic planning
  • Proven ability to support FDA and IVDR regulatory submission activities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as required
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, video, and written communication
  • Ability to occasionally move about the office to attend meetings or access resources

Targeted Salary Range: $130,000-$160,0000/year
