 Job Summary: As Material Program Manager (MPM) is responsible for management of all phases of program execution with key subcontractors which includes development of all supplier program management related documentation such as: monthly status reports, SRR/PDR/CDR materials, program planning documentation, program management related CDRLs and presentations of subcontract program materials to large technical teams, management, and customers.

 Responsibilities: 

This job requires the candidate to perform software engineering tasks, inclusive of those identified below, with minimal supervision:

  1. Plans, directs, and monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are maintained. Responsible for the project level profit and loss.
  2. Defines, generates, and reviews project management related material.
  3. Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available for the program.
  4. Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding budgeting and execution of program.
  5. Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure all program deliverables are met satisfactorily.
  6. Works closely with VTS management to ensure that all program risks and issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted upon.
  7. Serves as primary customer contact for project information.
  8. Pursues follow-on and new business opportunities directly with customers.
  9. Ensure adherence to all internal Program Management processes.
  10. Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving meetings.
  11. Input into creation of proposals for follow-on work.
  12. Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 4-7 years of program management experience ideally with 1 year managing DOD propulsion related programs
  • Experience managing department of defense (DoD) programs for the U.S. Government
  • Prior responsibilities directly related to generating, managing, and owning Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Integrated Master Plans (IMS), and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Direct experience in managing large Subcontracts
  • Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans
  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in engineering or business from an accredited university/college
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Management of rocket propulsion defense system programs
  • Management of control systems for rocket propulsion defense system programs
  • Management of Missile Defense Agency programs with MAP/PMAP requirements
  • Performing business development activities working directly with funding customer offices
  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Systems, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university/college
  • PMP Certification or equivalent
  • Currently holds an active DoD Secret Clearance
