Job description

Purpose

As a Learning & Development Specialist, you'll be at the heart of how our brokerage network grows, performs, and succeeds. In this role, you'll design and deliver impactful learning experiences that equip our people with the skills, confidence, and industry knowledge they need to thrive in a dynamic P&C insurance environment. From onboarding new hires to upskilling experienced professionals, your work will directly influence performance, compliance, career growth, and client satisfaction across our organization-making you a true catalyst for learning and continuous improvement.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs focused on property & casualty (P&C) insurance knowledge, including products, coverages, policy wordings, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership, HR, and subject-matter experts to identify skill and knowledge gaps and implement targeted learning solutions to improve performance, client satisfaction, and retention.
  • Facilitate in-person, virtual, and blended learning experiences to support ongoing professional development across the brokerage network.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new hires by developing structured onboarding programs and role-specific training plans and programs.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, learning paths, and reference tools to support consistent knowledge transfer.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend enhancements based on feedback, performance metrics, and business needs
  • Support operational projects and change initiatives by delivering training support as required.
  • Stay current on insurance industry trends, regulatory updates, and adult learning best practices.
  • Assist in the development of the learning and development strategy for our brokerages across the Collectivfide network.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a learning and development, training, or instructional role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or implementing training within a P&C insurance brokerage or insurance environment.
  • Prior experience as a Broker or Underwriter is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience designing and developing online or blended learning solutions, including e-learning content, is an asset.
  • RIBO license is an asset, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and instructional design skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Willingness and ability to travel to brokerage locations as required
