About The Strategy and Management Military Development Program

Driving innovation while transforming your career at the world's best financial services firm begins with you.

The Strategy and Management Program is our two-year development program. This provides an exclusive preview of the elite, two-year development training program (recently recognized in 2023 with a Brandon Hall Group Gold Award for most innovative or unique talent acquisition program), which prepares teammates to become future corporate leaders at Bank of America by providing you with direct experience in Digital Technologies, FinTech, Strategy, Innovation, and Management. Teammates will work in our innovation function (Bank of America Strategy & Business Ventures) helping drive strategic growth initiatives across our core business units. You will be exposed to multiple parts of our business and learn how to develop, test, launch, and operationalize new strategies to better serve our clients. You will also participate in a comprehensive training curriculum taught by BofA and industry experts, designed to enable general manager capabilities.

Bank of America's Strategy & Business Ventures team functions as an internal strategic consulting function for a wide range of leaders across the bank. This group provides high-fidelity learning opportunities in broadly relevant skills (research, modeling, presentations, problem solving methodologies, data visualization and storytelling) and will provide exposure to a diverse array of people, processes, and organizations within the bank.

Our full-time program will accelerate your career:

  • A two-year program, designed to develop Bank of America's future leaders by providing an experience to support multiple business units with senior leaders and industry experts
  • During the program you will be embedded in Bank of America's, Strategy & Business Ventures organization, where you will take part in a comprehensive training program while working in a cross-functional capacity to shape the future of the Consumer & Small Business line of business
  • You will drive strategic initiatives across high-visibility and fast-growing areas of the business, including FinTech, Product Innovation, Client Segmentation, Client Experience, Strategic Ventures, Portfolio Management, and Business Intelligence
  • You will learn about and leverage the latest emerging technology (AI, Cloud, Automation, Personalization) to evolve our business


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required
  • Junior Military Officer, Warrant Officer, or Non-Commissioned Officer
  • Must have an honorable discharge from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and be within 24 months of separation from Active Duty (Currently Drilling National Guard or Reservists are eligible)
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Appreciates an environment that supports learning, innovation, intelligent risk-taking, integrity, and flexibility
  • Builds and nurtures strong relationships, while collaborating to get things done
  • Demonstrates strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, creativity, listening, communication, and presentation skills

  • Passion for consulting work operating in a small group environment


Desired Skills:

  • 3.2 minimum GPA preferred
  • Pursuing a field which includes but is not limited to: Management, Economics, Finance, Consulting, Mathematics, Data Analysis, FinTech, Marketing, Product Management, Project Management
  • Have experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Have been part of high-performing teams or organizations
