POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Youth Development Coordinator intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing while developing, organizing and implementing high quality YMCA youth program(s), primarily for our Early Learning Center. A key role in this position is facilitating the operations of the Early Learning Center under the supervision of the Director of Youth Development, ELC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Works with teachers and other personnel with regards to the operations of programs, including program creation, promotion, planning, and delivery. Assure that the staff is fulfilling all requirements set by local, state, federal, and other standards necessary to operate a fully functional and licensed childcare facility and/or quality youth enrichment programs.
2. In Conjunction with the Coordinator, regularly scheduled instructional time in each classroom daily.
3. Ensure incident/accident reports are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Reports participant hours to DHS provider portal in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Promotes program enrollment and participation.
6. Assists with planning and facilitation of Y-wide community and family events.
7. Must exemplify appropriate behavior and act as a role model for participants showing the core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
8. Performs other duties, as necessary, to assure excellent operation of the YMCA youth development programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
โ— Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
โ— Experience facilitating youth development programs, including such areas as camp, before/after school programs, and/or enrichment programs for school-age youth. Experience in a Childcare Classroom is a plus.
โ— Excellent personal skills and experience with standard business software.
โ— Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

โ— Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.

โ— The employee must be able to commute to program locations for program needs. Indirect mileages related to work functions are reimbursable for employee.
Paid Time Off: During your first year you will have 10 Annual PTO Days, accrued at the rate of 5 hours per pay period (max of 80 hours may be accrued annually, plus 8 paid holidays.
Retirement: Upon being vested (after 2 years of YMCA employment with 1,000 hours worked in each of those two years), the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County will make contributions into the YMCA Retirement Fund Plan at the rate of 8%, fully paid by the Y. You can maximize your retirement savings by opening a 403(b) Smart Account, a voluntary tax-deferred savings account with the YMCA Retirement Fund.
Health & Dental Insurance: After 30 days of regular full-time employment, you are eligible for participation in the YMCAโ€™s group health and dental insurance plans. The YMCA pays 75 percent of an employee's individual coverage, while the employee is responsible for paying 25 percent and any costs associated with a family planย
