Technology Consultants in the Appian practice are responsible for the implementation and configuration of the technical solutions built on the Appian platform, including process models, workflows, AI and RPA components, data base design, security roles definition and configuration, use of Appian's prebuilt components for integrations through Connected Systems and Data Fabric, and configuring Process HQ for application performance measurements. The Appian Technology Consultant regularly consults with clients on use case definitions, requirements clarification, test cases, success criteria and solution acceptance to ensure project objectives are realized. Technical consultants work within a delivery framework where they report to Lead Consultants and have responsibility to groom our associate consultants.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design
  • Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions
  • Understands a broad spectrum of technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements
  • Often leads small-to-medium technical projects. Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Lead and with customer nominated representatives. Liaises with Solutions Architect as appropriate
  • Participates in the estimation and prioritization of user stories/tasks
  • Engage in scoping/solution design and documentation
  • Follow best practices and create technical designs
  • Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment
  • Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments
  • Provides technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement
  • Provides planning and design support for the development of solution architectures that will be implemented in a multiple system environment
  • Communicates across client community, and is viewed as adding value
  • Contributes to knowledge tools and communities, and ensures project learning's are documented and shared. Role models Focuses on single customer. Solves diverse and complex. May lead a project team

Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor's degree in a technology or comparable major
  • You have 2+ years of experience developing Appian solutions, implementing complex Appian development, and scaling the Appian platform.
  • You have an active Appian Senior Developer (L2) certification.
  • Sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.
  • Mastered at least one technical discipline with strong knowledge in at least three major technology areas
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations.
  • Possesses advanced level of business, technical, or functional knowledge
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools during delivery projects - requirements gathering, design, build, test and/or deploy
  • Perficient building applications on the recent Appian platform release and AI capabilities
  • Ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products
  • Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client business problem
  • Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence
  • Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing
  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements
  • Owns and produces customer documentation. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP questions). Ability to translate verbal requirements from face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals
  • Able to discuss requirements with a customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. From the requirements, able to develop a high level design or plan, and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver. Able to advise the engagement owner about the risks associated with this work package
  • Ability to work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/documentation for delivery

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $45864 to $101,520. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
