Assistant Center Director
Location: The Learning Experience – Lake Linganore, MD
Pay: $55,000–$60,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time
Join the Founding Leadership Team at Our Brand-New School
The Learning Experience – Lake Linganore is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Center Director to help launch our newest early childhood education center. This is a unique opportunity to build a school from the ground up, mentor a brand-new team of educators, and help create a culture where children, families, and teachers thrive.
Working alongside the Center Director, you'll play a key role in daily operations, teacher development, enrollment growth, licensing compliance, and creating an exceptional experience for every family who walks through our doors.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with the Center Director to oversee the daily operations of the center
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing teaching team
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with all Maryland Office of Child Care (OCC) regulations and company policies
  • Support curriculum implementation and classroom quality throughout the center
  • Lead tours for prospective families and help drive enrollment growth
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, licensing documentation, and center administration
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service
  • Step into classrooms when needed to support children and teachers
Qualifications
  • Must meet Maryland Office of Child Care qualifications for an Assistant Director (Senior Staff Member) in a licensed childcare center
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
  • Coursework in Early Childhood Education and child development preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Maryland childcare licensing regulations
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Passion for mentoring teachers and delivering exceptional early childhood education
