About This Role

At Floresville Early Education Academy, we are committed to providing a high-quality early learning experience that nurtures the whole childโ€”academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a structured, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment for children ages 12 months to 36 months.


This role focuses on supporting early language development, social-emotional growth, and independence through intentional teaching practices aligned with the Frog Street Toddler Curriculum and the high-quality standards of Texas Rising Star (TRS), NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), and Cognia.


What You'll Do
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for toddlers
  • Implement the Frog Street Toddler Curriculum with fidelity, including daily lesson plans and intentional teaching strategies
  • Support childrenโ€™s social-emotional development, including positive guidance, routines, and transitions
  • Promote early language development through conversation, reading, and interactive activities
  • Maintain consistent daily schedules that balance active play, rest, meals, and learning experiences
  • Ensure active supervision and full compliance with DFPS Minimum Standards, Texas Rising Star, NAEYC, and Cognia expectations
  • Observe, assess, and document childrenโ€™s developmental progress
  • Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and conferences
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment
  • Lead and support assistant teachers to ensure consistency and high-quality care
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement efforts

Requirements
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher preferred
  • Candidates without a CDA must be willing to obtain one within 6 months of employment
  • Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting preferred
  • Understanding of toddler development, behavior guidance, and classroom management strategies
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Must meet all DFPS licensing requirements
  • Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices aligned with NAEYC standards
  • Ability to implement curriculum and assessment aligned with Texas Rising Star and Cognia frameworks
  • Patient, energetic, and nurturing approach to working with toddlers
  • Strong classroom management and positive guidance skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive
  • Requires lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, sitting on the floor, and active participation in play and routines
  • Requires maintaining visual and auditory supervision at all times
