Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using The Goddard School's proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment for toddlers
  • Support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
  • Foster independence by encouraging self-help skills, communication, and positive peer interactions
  • Observe, assess, and document children's growth and developmental milestones
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with families regarding their child's progress and daily experiences
  • Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution
  • Collaborate with teaching partners, administration, and support staff to provide a high-quality educational experience
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements
  • Participate actively in professional development and school initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture among faculty and staff
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early learning setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching partner and school leadership
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid NC Qualifying Letter
  • Must meet all North Carolina childcare licensing and training requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of children
