LOCATION: Pleasanton, CA (hybrid)

DURATION: contract through December 2026

PAY RATE: $40/hr.


JOB SUMMARY:


Our client is seeking an Instructional Designer / Talent Development Manager for a contract opportunity. The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing training materials tailored to diverse audiences, creating exams and assessments to measure learning outcomes, and updating procedures to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness. Designs and delivers company training programs and workshops to employees and managers. Works with Management to create employee learning programs consistent with the organizational priorities, goals and training needs. This role collaborates closely with business partners to support organizational initiatives and contributes to key projects that deliver growth and development across the organization.


DUTIES:

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates eCourses, media (video and audio), training materials, training classes, and training procedures.
  • Oversee new employee orientation by monitoring sessions and the facilitator, facilitates advanced material training, coaches and conducts on-the-job training, including use of computers
  • Formulates training programs, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, and workshops; selects or develops training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.
  • Evaluates and assists in designing training manuals and related materials, training classes, and training procedures
  • Implements instructional design skills following the ADDIE/SAM models of design
  • and software; conducts training on sales and marketing techniques, designs and evaluates
  • materials to ensure content is relevant and up to date
  • Administrative tasks such as administering the learning management system and completing help desk tickets.
  • Assist with conducting training for projects. May include leading a 30-minute training session, or being a producer for virtual training sessions.
  • Work with business partners and classroom facilitators to ensure materials are effective and up-to-date.
  • Tracks the progress of trainees through routine tests, observation, and feedback from supervisors; evaluates the effectiveness of the current training.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience creating learning content with software including Microsoft products, Articulate products, and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
  • 3+ years of Talent Development Management experience
  • A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Role involves mostly working independently but creating positive relationships with business partners. May require the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal, non-verbal).
  • Comfort with public speaking and making presentations.
  • Familiarity with a variety of software systems (including Microsoft Suite, Articulate, and Adobe) as well as internal computer systems and applications.
  • Must be able to operate computer software and business equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and meet established deadlines.
  • Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
