About ASD - A Home for Life
ASD - A Home for Life is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, stable housing and supportive services for underserved individuals impacted by HIV. Our mission is to ensure that every resident has the opportunity to live with dignity, stability, and access to compassionate care within a supportive community.
Position Overview
ASD - A Home for Life is seeking a motivated and mission-driven college student to join our Development Department as a Part-Time Development Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, and development operations while working closely with the Chief Development Officer.
The Development Intern will play an important role in supporting fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow housing and services for individuals impacted by HIV. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in nonprofit management, philanthropy, communications, public policy, or social impact careers.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities, including preparing thank-you letters and donor communications.
  • Support donor database management, including gift tracking and record updates.
  • Help prepare briefing materials and presentations for donor meetings.
Campaign & Event Support
  • Assist with planning and coordination of fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Support invitation management, guest tracking, and follow-up communications.
  • Help coordinate event materials, logistics, and volunteer support.
Grant & Research Support
  • Conduct research on grant opportunities and foundation prospects.
  • Assist with gathering program information and supporting materials for grant proposals and reports.
Communications & Impact Storytelling
  • Help draft development communications, newsletters, and donor updates.
  • Assist with gathering stories and impact data that highlight the organization's mission and programs.

Schedule & Compensation
  • 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on academic commitments.
  • Compensation: $20/ hr
