Job description

From the beginning, students are entrusted with specific responsibilities, ensuring they play a significant role in their learning journey. As valued team members, students are also encouraged to share and implement their own ideas, enhancing both their personal growth and the collective success of the team.

Description:

This position provides operational support for both Vocational Training and Talent Development programs. The role will interface with a variety of associates and managers in various departments throughout Plant Spartanburg, utilize various computer applications, daily communications, project lead opportunities and attend regular meetings. The position is open for an intern (one rotation) or for someone that wants to commit as a co-op (three rotations, alternating with school terms).

The qualified intern/co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

Talent Development Programs (TDP):

  • Support onboarding activities
  • Support Steering committee meetings
  • Attend Talent Development Program virtual workshops, in-person workshops.
  • Create weekly Development Program newsletter.
  • Create, oversee and communicate weekly activities e.g. Peer Driven Plant Tours
  • Event coordination: Roundel awards.
  • Conducting surveys: Data analysis, seeking input and creating feedback reports
  • Providing input for continuous improvements

Vocational training:

  • Recruiting Vocational Talent Programs: schedule/attend and manage recruiting and program events
  • Schedule interviews with new Scholar applicants and follow-up with next steps
  • Prepare and participate in career fairs.
  • Maintain inventory of recruiting giveaways and program event suppliers. Manage ordering process for items.
  • Maintain and lead process for onboarding Vocational Talent Program participants
  • Attend workshops and meetings that support the continuous improvement process for Vocational Talent Programs.

Assignment Projects:

  • Roundel awards.
  • Peer Driven Plant Tours
  • Plan and coordinate annual Scholar Graduation Ceremony (May)
  • Plan and coordinate application process for Scholar Program (Feb - May)

  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 11th - May 14th 2027.
