Description:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the execution of refrigeration and mechanical construction projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Working alongside Project Managers, field leadership, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and customers, the APM helps drive safe, organized, financially controlled, and operationally successful projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers from project turnover through closeout
  • Assist with scheduling, procurement, submittals, RFIs, and document control
  • Coordinate with engineering, field operations, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain project flow
  • Track project milestones, equipment deliveries, and material status
  • Support field teams with operational and documentation needs
  • Support implementation of project checklists, QA/QC standards, and closeout deliverables
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready project files
  • Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, billing support, and cost management
  • Support monthly Cost to Complete (CTC) reviews and earned versus burned labor tracking
  • Track purchase orders, subcontract commitments, vendor invoices, and change orders
  • Help identify schedule, labor, financial, and execution risks early
  • Maintain project documentation within Spectrum ERP and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Participate in project meetings and operational reviews
  • Document meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups
  • Support coordination between office and field operations
Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
  • 1โ€“5 years of construction, refrigeration, HVAC, piping, or mechanical industry experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Spectrum ERP, Autodesk ACC, or similar construction management platforms preferred
