Job description

We're actively seeking to hire for an unpaid internship in the academics unit here at Central Michigan University Athletics!
Job Duties:
The Student-Athlete Services unit offers a comprehensive tutorial program for CMU student-athletes. The
department is currently seeking qualified and content knowledgeable undergraduate and graduate students
to aid in a wide variety of academic subject areas for the semester. Tutors are responsible for abiding by all
NCAA and CMU policies and procedures while upholding the academic integrity and confidentiality in all areas
of their job performance. Specific duties include:
• Assist students in planning weekly coursework (mentors).
• Understand and effectively communicate subject matter to students in individual and small group
settings (tutors).
• Assist students to develop and utilize personal learning styles in academic pursuits (tutors & mentors).
• Provide feedback to Academic Coordinators via in person conversations, emails, phone calls, and
session reports on our internal software system (tutors & mentors).
• Navigate Blackboard content thoroughly and effectively (tutors & mentors)
• Submit appointment reports electronically in a timely manner (tutors & mentors).
Hours are based on tutor/mentor's availability.
