Position Purpose
Building upon the first year and sophomore year experience, SVPP Curriculum Specialist will spearhead the development and early implementation of the junior and senior year experience for the campus-wide Sexual Violence Prevention Project (SVPP), a four-year sequenced undergraduate curriculum to prevent sexual violence at Dartmouth. The SVPP Curriculum Specialist will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to collaboratively and creatively research, develop, align, coordinate, and implement evidence-based programs and interventions focused on skill acquisition and culture change to increase bystander intervention, utilization of resources and supports, positive relationships and sexual experiences, and using power for good.
The Curriculum Design Specialist position in SVPP is essential to fill at this time, given President Beilock's interest moving forward with the development and implementation of sexual violence prevention trainings for juniors and seniors. This position's primary function is to fulfill the goal of launching the first required component for the SVPP Junior Year Experience in the upcoming academic year (Fall 2026), so it is critical we recruit and hire someone as soon as possible. The position is also responsible for spearheading the expansion of the number of requirements and training options for Juniors and then Seniors over the next 2-3 years. Additionally, this role ensures all SVPP training curricula are research informed, strategic, and effective. Filling this position enables us to have the capacity necessary to deliver high-quality sexual violence prevention trainings and to meet the institutional expectation of executing Dartmouth's stated goal of having a 4-Year Sexual Violence Prevention & Education experience required for all undergraduates.
Not filling this position would mean we would not be able to deliver on the institutional priorities identified by the Division of Campus and Community Life leadership and Office of the President of expanding the SVPP curriculum to upper-level students. Furthermore, the output of SVPP trainings to all first-years and sophomores remains tenuous due to the high risk of burnout by current overworked staff.

Master's degree in public health, education, social work, social justice education, cultural foundations of education, health education, higher education, health promotion, counseling or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 or more years of experience working in the areas of learning design, curriculum /program development, behavior change, culture change, student development, skill acquisition, project implementation, sexual violence, public health, social work, wellness, health education, or related field.
Experience designing and facilitating interactive, skill-based workshops.
Experience conducting literature reviews and incorporating research into practice.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., students, staff, and faculty).
High degree of flexibility, including the ability to work nights/weekends on occasion as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
4 or more years of experience working in the areas of curriculum design, program design, behavior change, culture change, student development, skill acquisition, project implementation, sexual violence, public health, social work, wellness, health education, or related field.
Experience working in a higher education environment or with college-aged individuals.
Experience utilizing student development theory.
Familiarity with aspects of relationship violence, stalking, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Experience developing culturally inclusive programs and working with and/or advocating on behalf of marginalized people (e.g., African American, Asian-American, Faith-Based, International, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Native American).
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Training in or experience with Student Wellness Center philosophies and approaches (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Bystander Intervention or Green Dot, etc).
Experience teaching or facilitating conversations in topics such identity, bias, privilege, power, sexual violence, cultural norms, respectful interactions, sexual health, empathy, empowering others, modeling positive behaviors.
