On-Call EMS Clinical Coordinator (Applicant Pool)
Job Summary
The EMT Clinical Coordinator will provide professional work in coordinating and implementing instructional support for all affiliated clinical sites utilized by programs. As the Clinical Coordinator He or She will be responsible for the scheduling and advising of EMT/Paramedic students during the clinical and field internship component of their course. The Clinical Coordinator will acquire and maintain affiliation agreements with local EMS Providers. The Clinical Coordinator will report directly to the Program Coordinator and department administrator (Associate Dean).

Job Duties
• Coordinates the scheduling for the Preceptors and students.
• Track student progress to ensure requirements of the course(s) are being met.
• Maintains affiliation agreements between clinical sites and Schoolcraft College.
• Develops and maintains open communications between program and clinical sites.
• Provides student orientation for clinical requirement prior to the start date of clinical rotation cycle to include policies and procedures, conduct, course requirements, etc.
• Assists with the development of clinical policies and procedures.
• Organize, maintain, and archive student program and clinical records.
• Oversee the achievement of program clinical objectives.
• Prepare report to the Program Coordinator on the status of the clinical program.
• Contributes additional instructional support services, as assigned.
• Develops, schedules and ensures instruction in the clinical affiliates and sites is coordinated with didactic and laboratory courses of instruction and that all students receive adequate programmatic and technical instruction, exposure and experience prior commencement of the clinical rotation.
• Evaluates clinical experiences at affiliated clinical sites, in terms of quality, quantity, and appropriateness of student learning experiences using various techniques, including student evaluations and FISDAP reports.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of records that demonstrate outcome measures such as clinical experiences, student records, and employer data.
• Visits clinical sites on a regularly scheduled basis to ensure uniform and consistent practice within accreditation guidelines.
• Participates actively in assigned program curriculum planning and development within accreditation guidelines.
• Participates in departmental, committee and other College meetings; attends local, state, and regional meetings to support the development of assigned programs.

Required Qualifications
1. Associate degree (AS, AA, AAS.) issued by an accredited institution.
2. Michigan Licensed Paramedic (Current).
3. Michigan Licensed Paramedic Instructor/Coordinator (Current) with experience in public speaking and educational methodology.
4. A minimum of three (3) years of experience at the Paramedic level and currently working in a related field with duties specific to those detailed.
Additional Qualifications:
• Think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational culture.
• Take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
• Anticipate, investigate, and analyze problems and address them proactively.
• Exercise discretion and good judgment at all times and in all contexts and maintain confidentiality
• Working Knowledge of State and National EMS regulatory requirements.
• Working Knowledge and proficiency in all levels of EMS training requirements.
• Working Knowledge of computer software to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint), Outlook.
• Prefer knowledge in FISDAP - specific to scheduling and performing student's audits.
• Working knowledge of Clinical Agreement development and maintaining said agreements.
• Working Knowledge of HIPPA, Safety, Fire and Security policies of all clinical sites.
• Working Knowledge of student eligibility requirements to include background checks, immunizations, CPR, insurance, etc., as they pertain to clinical rotations.
• Working Knowledge of college admission requirements for academic and EMS programs.
• Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills and the abilities to communicate with all levels of the organization both internal and external, from students to program directors and Administrators.
• Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a non-bias demeanor.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree (BS, BA, BAS).
2. Previous supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
