Job description

Our Early Learning Center is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. We are committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning through developmentally appropriate practices and strong family partnerships. The ELC Team Leader will provide creative and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities in a safe environment for children served in the Early Learning Center based on licensing and accrediting body standards and child development guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Plan and implement learning experiences that promote all developmental areas, including improving the readiness of children for school by developing their literacy and phonemic, print numeric awareness and language.

Organize and prepare teaching material in order to carry out weekly lesson plans and provide opportunities for each child to prepare the children for success in school.

Schedule and conduct parent-teacher conferences no less than two times a year.

Assist the Early Learning Center Manager in producing a quarterly newsletter for parents.

Follow all licensing and accreditation standards for cleaning, diapering, washing hands, and food service.

Assist in enrollment of children.

Assist in on-boarding training with new staff and collaborate with the Early Learning Center Manager to develop/facilitate ongoing training with ELC staff.

Assist with attendance and food program daily and monthly accounting.

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Job Requirements:

Requires a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college or university in child development or early childhood education or the equivalent (64 semester hours) with a minimum of 21 semester hours in courses related to child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education and either Gateways to Opportunity Leel 1 Illinois Director Credential, 3 semester hours in child care administration, leadership, or management, or 3 points of credential-approved training in child care administration, leadership, or management.

One year of work experience in human services, child development or related field preferred.

Requires a valid drivers license and proof of automobile insurance.
