Job description

Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the delivery, implementation and evaluation of learning programs to support associate development and performance across the organization. Program topics include leadership, professional development and role specific content, such as product knowledge and customer service skills. This role will coordinate the implementation and delivery planning for assigned programs to ensure effective program execution. The Specialist will also collaborate with the other Training and Development team members on the design and development of learning programs and support the sourcing of vendor led learning programs.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Facilitates leadership and professional development programs to ensure leaders and team members have skills and knowledge to perform in their role.
  • Teaches various topics to our store Associates (Service and Sales, Product Knowledge, Business Knowledge, etc.) to better equip them with the knowledge and tools needed for increased success.
  • Plans and implements training events, including but not limited to session scheduling, participant enrollment, and material
  • Develops learning materials, curricula, job aids, and other training resources to support ongoing associate development.
  • Maintains class records and user information in learning management system (Brainshark).
  • Produces daily and weekly reports.
  • Collaborates with other team members, providing delivery feedback, course updates, design input, recommendations, and continuous improvement for all professional and leadership development learning programs.
  • Creates an engaging learning experience in the classroom for visual, auditory and kinesthetic adult learners.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs and offers design and development recommendations to instructional designers.

  • Facilitation skills - Effectively deliver training content and respond to questions from groups of associates. Manage classroom dynamics to create an effective learning environment. Ability to "read the room" and adapt delivery styles to meet the unique needs of different learner groups.

  • Solid understanding of performance management, coaching and feedback techniques.
  • Experience creating evaluation strategies for learning programs.
  • Program and project management experience.
