The Opportunity:
Smurfit Westrock is looking for a dynamic, innovative, results-driven learning manager who will lead the development of our Commercial Academy and partner with our division HR, Talent & L&D to deliver & implement these tools to drive business results effectively. This role will consult and collaborate across the organization to provide learning solutions in alignment with business needs that fuel our business strategy and support team members in the Commercial, Marketing, and Paper Sales Organization. This individual is responsible for the common and core Commercial Curriculum and supporting the Divisions with common employee learning solutions to support employee processes like orientation, onboarding, and continued career development. They will also support and enable L&D resources that support the implementation and delivery of common content through each Division. This lead will champion communication of L&D Programming for Commercial & develop tools and resources to ensure communication to support scale and delivery are healthy and adopted within each Division.This role is Remote - flexible 40% travel, supports across North America.
As the Senior Manager of Commercial Capability, you will:
  • Build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to identify learning needs that support our business strategy
  • Create effective branding and internal marketing campaigns for Commercial Programming
  • Conduct needs assessments, synthesize information, and recommend solutions to build learning opportunities aligned to organizational objectives.
  • Organize delivery and develop scalable learning solutions that are integrated into employee experience.s
  • Manage and implement successful solutions implementation by identifying key sponsors, creating project plans,ans and collaborating effectively.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual learning experiences, ensuring skill and/or knowledge acquisition toward intended business results.
  • Align and establish internal orientation and onboarding material to integrate into Division Orientation and Onboarding Tools.

What you need to succeed:
  • Preferred 5-7 Years in the space of Learning & Development within commercial spaces
  • Commercial business drivers associated with possible learning solutions
  • Performance analysis, e.g., business analysis, performance gap assessment, cause analysis
  • Project management, facilitation & presentation tools and techniques
  • Experience as a well-rounded learning and development professional, demonstrating creativity and technical ability as a practitioner (e.g., adult learning principles, instructional design, competency modeling, development planning, leadership assessments, mentoring, coaching, leadership development, team development, and change management)
  • Self-driven and have the capability and confidence to consult with senior leaders and stakeholders, as well as the ability to work closely with front-line sales and commercial sales.s
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to travel (approximately 40%)
