Senior Program Manager – R&D Integration

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager – R&D Integration to lead the execution, integration, and alignment of complex global R&D initiatives tied to our long-term technology roadmap. This highly visible role is responsible for driving cross-functional coordination across engineering disciplines, scaling initiatives globally, and ensuring strategic alignment between R&D, manufacturing, and business objectives.


The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth, program leadership, and the ability to influence globally distributed teams while remaining actively engaged in engineering execution and problem solving.

Location: Photronics - Boise, Idaho (US). This is an on-site position. Remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

Responsibilities

Global R&D Program Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end integration and execution of complex R&D programs aligned with the company’s global technology and product roadmap.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and business teams to deliver strategic, multi-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Scale R&D initiatives from localized or site-specific efforts into globally coordinated programs supporting technology advancement and operational alignment.
  • Serve as the primary integration lead for high-priority, company-critical R&D programs involving multiple technologies, applications, and process nodes.
  • Establish program structures, priorities, timelines, and communication cadences to ensure alignment, accountability, and execution across globally distributed teams.
  • Partner closely with technical leadership to align innovation priorities with long-term business and technology objectives.

Technical Integration & Engineering Leadership

  • Apply deep systems-level technical expertise to integrate complex engineering efforts across multiple functional disciplines.
  • Actively contribute to hands-on engineering and R&D activities to accelerate technical problem solving, integration efforts, and project execution.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges while driving solutions in fast-paced, high-complexity environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple engineering domains, technologies, and product platforms.
  • Support the transition of emerging technologies and R&D developments into scalable manufacturing and operational environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Organizational Influence

  • Influence and align global stakeholders across functions, regions, and technical disciplines without direct authority.
  • Drive communication, transparency, and decision-making across geographically dispersed teams and leadership groups.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen the organization’s technical leadership capabilities and industry reputation through consistent, high-impact program delivery.
  • Support strategic planning and roadmap discussions by providing technical insights, integration expertise, and execution guidance.

Travel: Less than 20% travel as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong background in systems integration, process integration, or multi-disciplinary engineering with deep technical expertise and systems-level thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence complex global programs across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational alignment capabilities in highly technical environments.
  • Ability to balance strategic program leadership with hands-on technical execution and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and decision-making skills within complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience operating within fast-paced R&D, engineering, or advanced technology organizations.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in R&D, engineering, technology development, or technical program leadership roles.
  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional programs within global organizations.
  • Experience scaling R&D initiatives from local execution to globally coordinated programs preferred.
  • Prior experience in technical leadership roles such as: Principal Engineer, Technical Program Manager, Engineering Integration Lead
  • Experience within semiconductor, photonics, advanced manufacturing, or related high-technology industries strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple technology nodes, platforms, or product lines preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
