Job description

A successful candidate will manage an assigned territory in the US Central Time Zone and work anywhere within this region. This will include representing West Fraser wood products within the new home, multi-family and commercial construction markets.  They will be both a technical resource and product expert in their territory along with growing relationships with our key customers and developing a marketing plan for the assigned territory.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Establishing, managing, and maintaining customer relationships by ensuring excellent service and follow-up and by learning and supporting the customers’ business
  • Designing and implementing regional marketing programs with key pro-dealers, retail accounts and builders which support corporate sales and marketing objectives
  • Promoting new and existing products to contractor yards and builders
  • Serving as a subject matter expert regarding products or programs in the marketplace
  • Establish, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with key pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, and industrial customers
  • Ensure exceptional service, proactive follow-up, and deep understanding of customer business models
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert within the marketplace
  • Partner closely with inside sales, sales management, and marketing teams to achieve revenue objectives
  • Develop mentoring capabilities with outside marketing team and support staff
  • Contribute meaningful input to broader organizational planning discussions and sales & marketing initiatives

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a marketing / sales role within the wood products industry
  • Five (5) to ten (10) + years of experience in a role related to the home construction or building industry
  • Knowledge of construction and building materials
  • Solid planning, organizational and time management skills
  • A strong ability to analyze and report in a professional manner on product usage, trends, and competitive threats within their respective geographies
  • Knowledge and experience at the builder level; knowledge of building codes and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and people skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
