Job description

Position Overview 

The Learning and Development Consultant will develop training curriculums and deliver in-person and virtual training to external customers for Verra Mobility's products and services across the United States. This position will require travel up to 35% of the time. 

The L&D Consultant must be an articulate, quick-thinking professional with good judgment. The candidate will apply comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of business training concepts, practices, processes, and procedures to a complex range of assignments. The ideal candidate works independently, stays current on company, industry, and customer developments, engages audiences effectively, and brings energy to drive continuous improvement across the organization. 

This position is remote, with travel to customer sites as needed. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Develop detailed knowledge and understanding of Verra Mobility's business and systems. 
  • Review, understand, and adhere to federal, state, and local legislation and contractual requirements affecting customers' processes and program operations. 
  • Build effective customer relationships, proactively engage training participants, and work with customers to help shape their knowledge and experience. 
  • Function effectively within project teams and develop strong working relationships with staff, customers, and vendors. 
  • Perform needs analysis to build training plans that are effective for software and technical training to ensure customers' needs are met. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain customized training curricula - including presentations and user guides - ensuring materials stay current and accurate. 
  • Deliver formal training and coaching to external customers, employing adult-learning techniques, and meeting established training objectives. 
  • Evaluate training outcomes and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the training experience. 
  • Assist with special assignments and projects, as needed. 
  • Understand and adhere to company policies, including travel and expense (T&E) guidelines, and submit expense reports on time. 

Qualifications: 

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently. 
  • Strong consulting, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing business needs. 
  • Skilled in instructional design, with hands-on experience developing training materials. 
  • Excellent adult facilitation skills. 
  • Experience facilitating web-based/virtual training, with familiarity with virtual classroom/webinar platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, GoTo Training). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms. 
  • Strong organizational, task leadership, and planning skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Office 365). 
  • Federal security clearance eligibility. 
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time. 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in learning & development, specifically developing and delivering training solutions. 
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content development tools. 
  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (Power BI). 
  • Business analysis, project management, and customer service skills a plus.
