Job description

About the job

Sales Development Intern (Part-Time, Hybrid — Fort Mill, SC)

About OneData

OneData is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner building agentic AI and cloud solutions for small and mid-sized businesses. We are based in Fort Mill, SC. Our customers are business owners and operators who know AI matters but don't know where to start — our job is to show them.

The Role

You are the front of the funnel. Your job is to find the right companies, reach the right person, and book them into a conversation with our leadership team. This is the role where you learn how B2B technology sales actually works, and it is measured in outcomes you control.

What you'll do

  • Run outbound sequences — email, LinkedIn, and phone — to owners, operations leaders, and IT decision-makers at SMBs across the Southeast
  • Qualify inbound leads from our marketing campaigns
  • Book qualified discovery meetings for our senior team, and prepare the briefing notes for each one
  • Sit in on the meetings you book, capture notes, and debrief with the closer afterward
  • Keep our CRM clean and current — every touch logged, every stage accurate
  • Partner with our research team on prospect lists and account research, and pressure-test what comes back
  • Report weekly on activity, response rates, and meetings booked

What success looks like

Your primary metric is qualified meetings booked per week. We will set a ramp target with you in week one and review it every Friday. You will know exactly how you're doing at all times.

What we're looking for

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a business, sales, communications, or related program
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and talking to strangers. This is the single most important requirement
  • Organized and persistent — good SDRs are made of follow-up, not charisma
  • Clear, concise written communication
  • Interest in technology and AI; willingness to learn enough to hold a credible first conversation
  • Based in or near the Charlotte metro and able to work from our Fort Mill office at least part of the week

Nice to have

  • Any prior experience in sales, retail, fundraising, recruiting, or customer service
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) or outreach tools (Apollo, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
  • Conversational Spanish — a real advantage with the Charlotte area's Hispanic-owned business community, which we're actively building into

What you'll actually learn here

You will be coached directly by the people who close our deals, on live pipeline. Nothing here is a simulation — the meetings you book are real meetings, and you'll be in many of them.

  • The technology you're selling. Real training on what agentic AI and AWS cloud solutions actually do, so you can hold a credible conversation with a business owner instead of reading a script. This is the skill that separates good tech SDRs from everyone else
  • A real sales stack. CRM, sales engagement and sequencing tools, and prospecting databases — used daily, and partly set up by you
  • How to work through other people. You'll brief our research and content teams, review what they produce, and hold the standard — early management experience most people don't get until years into a career
  • Weekly 1:1 coaching on your calls and emails, plus a written review at week 6 and week 12 against your target

Tech sales is one of the highest-paying entry points into the industry and almost nobody teaches it in school. You'll leave here knowing how to do it, with numbers you can point to.

Details

  • Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week, flexible around your class schedule
  • Hybrid — Fort Mill, SC office plus remote
  • $20/hour base, plus $75 for every qualified meeting that takes place. W-2, paid biweekly; bonus paid monthly
  • On-target earnings: $28–31/hour for someone hitting 2–3 qualified meetings a week. There is no cap
  • Start date running through December 2026
  • This is an intern-to-hire role. Performance is reviewed at 12 weeks against your meetings-booked target. Strong performers will be offered a full-time position starting January 2027
