The Business Development Intern provides support to the Evans Delivery Business Development team while gaining hands-on exposure to the company's business model, sales process, customers, and market. The internship will initially focus on learning the Evans model, observing business development activities, participating in sales calls, and assisting with research, spreadsheet analysis, and data-related projects. As the intern develops a stronger understanding of the business and sales process, they may progressively participate in prospecting and other business development activities.


Essential Job Duties

  • Learn the Evans Delivery business model, services, customer base, and business development process
  • Shadow Business Development team members and participate in customer, prospect, and internal sales-related calls to gain exposure to the sales process
  • Assist with spreadsheet-based projects, data review, analysis, and other business development initiatives
  • Conduct research to identify prospective markets, industries, customers, and business opportunities
  • Organize, review, and maintain business development information and data used to support sales activities
  • Assist the Business Development team with projects and activities that support customer and prospect development
  • Develop an understanding of how customer needs align with Evans Delivery's service offerings and capabilities
  • As knowledge and experience increase, participate in supervised prospecting and business development outreach to prospective customers
  • Provide updates on assigned projects, research, and business development activities
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:


Required Qualifications

  • Current post-secondary student, entering their Junior or Senior year, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong computer skills and technically savvy
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter, punctual, reliable, organized, and eager to learn
  • High degree of accountability and persistence
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Must be able to work at least 15 hours a week
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Customer service oriented
