Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Human Resources Manager. This position has responsibility for all human resources functions within the manufacturing plants at our Mauston location.  This person will also serve on the Mauston Leadership Teams along with other functional leads and the Director of Operations.  This person will be responsible for driving partnerships across Mauston to deliver value added initiatives to support the business goals. The role serves as a consultant to the leadership team to lead talent management, talent acquisition, succession planning, learning & development, change management, workforce planning, engagement initiatives.  Critical will be managing Human Resource related issues and providing support to business leaders, plant and to serve as a change agent. This position is on-site located in Mauston, WI.

Job duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy HR initiatives, ensuring robust alignment with business priorities and corporate guidance. 
  • Oversee HR processes, full cycle Talent acquisition, including partnering with Hiring managers and corporate talent acquisition. As well as partnering with operations and Finance teams on headcount forecasting.
  • Oversee and ensure key HR performance indicators are reviewed, communicated, and achieved by Mauston team. 
  • Ensuring legal compliance for all HR related areas at the site. Maintains knowledge of federal and state legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. 
  • Lead talent management, succession planning, learning & development, change management, workforce planning, and address competency, knowledge, and talent gaps for the location.  
  • Develop and execute robust action plans to improve employee experience, employee retention and engagement 
  • Manage Compensation practices for the location as necessary. 
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees to be an effective coach and problem solver of people issues.  
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Oversee effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Partner with legal as needed/required. 
  • Oversee and guide the location human resources, ensuring strong competencies in leadership and people management.  
  • Guide and support location to develop and align HR strategy with key business priorities to drive. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year university. 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Human Resources experience in a Manufacturing and/or Production environment.
  • Strong leadership skills are required - able to challenge current practices, sell a vision, empower people, overcome obstacles and solve conflicts. 
  • Ability to think through complex development projects and identify gaps in plans as well as risks and opportunities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a matrix organizational structure to leverage shared resources and complete programs on time.
  • Exceptional written/oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of legal requirements and a working knowledge of Wisconsin state and federal wage and hour laws.  
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, determine issues and objectives, and develop strategies to address needs.  
  • Effective level of business literacy about the business financial and non-financial metrics and indicators.  
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and related computer skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team through effective coaching, development, feedback, and performance management. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across disciplines and with multiple levels of management. Proven ability to successfully navigate a merger and acquisition transition or integration.
