Learning Systems Lead
The Opportunity:
As the Learning Systems Lead, you will serve as the primary functional contact for our learning platforms-including Workday Learning, Degreed, skills platforms, content providers, and internal tools. You will help teams navigate platform capabilities, resolve operational issues, and translate business needs into platform aligned solutions that improve the learner experience and operational efficiency.
You will support the execution of the learning systems strategy defined by the Senior Manager of Learning Systems and Analytics, working closely with IT, vendors, L&D teams, and the Learning Analytics and Insights Lead. This role is ideal for someone experienced in complex learning ecosystems who brings strong problem-solving skills, cross team coordination, and a product minded, innovation-oriented approach.
How You'll Contribute:
  • Serve as the functional point of contact for learning platforms and promote consistent usage across teams.
  • Help teams understand platform capabilities, constraints, and solution paths that align with business needs.
  • Lead functional troubleshooting, identify root causes, and partner with IT and vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Stay informed about platform updates and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders in clear, practical terms.
  • Support a cohesive experience across platforms and reduce fragmentation within the learning ecosystem.
  • Improve usability by strengthening organization, accessibility, and workflow clarity across tools.
  • Drive adoption by identifying friction points and helping teams embed learning into natural moments of need.
  • Use platform usage, engagement trends, and operational data to validate issues and prioritize improvements.
  • Partner with the Learning Analytics & Insights Lead to ensure platforms support accurate and meaningful measurement.
  • Translate insights into platform enhancements that enable better learner outcomes and team efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance platform performance and alignment with business goals.
  • Apply AI fluency to improve workflows, search, personalization, and automation across the ecosystem.
  • Stay informed about vendor roadmaps and evolving capabilities, recommending new features based on impact.
  • Contribute to continuous discovery by gathering feedback, assessing needs, and shaping iterative improvements.
  • Ensure learning platforms operate cohesively as part of an integrated ecosystem, coordinating with IT and vendors to support interoperability and seamless user experiences.
  • Lead cross team initiatives in a matrixed environment involving content teams, HR Tech, IT, data teams, skills partners, and vendors.
  • Facilitate alignment during platform updates, pilots, and releases.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements that support development and enhancement work.
  • Support the development of requirements for new features, integrations, and improvements.
  • Lead UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios, defect tracking, and release validation.
  • Ensure new capabilities are ready for operational adoption and well understood by platform users.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise learning platforms in complex, multisystem ecosystems
  • Experience configuring, administering, or supporting HR technologies such as LMS or LXP
  • Experience working with IT and vendors to translate business needs into functional requirements
  • Experience with project management, product management, and change management supporting technology initiatives
  • Experience with AI, including applying AI capabilities to enhance workflows or user experience
  • Ability to diagnose platform issues
  • Ability to use data to inform decisions and understand platform performance
  • Ability to lead cross-team initiatives without formal authority
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Workday Learning or Degreed LXP
  • Experience with content governance or skills frameworks
  • Experience supporting training or communication related to platform rollouts
  • Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI behaviors
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of strong problem-solving skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
