Paul Mitchell The School Modesto is seeking a qualified Future Professional Advisor to join our family! With over one hundred schools nation-wide, Paul Mitchell Schools is growing faster than ever. Not only do we offer an education second to none, we also make time for personal and communal growth through opportunities such as FUNraising, monthly team trainings, student clubs and activities, fashion shows, photo shoots and much more.

Future Professional Advisor Role

The Future Professional Advisor is essential in creating and maintaining a positive and safe learning environment in the school. He or she acts as the liaison between the management team and the student body. He or she is a coach and an accountability buddy for the Future Professionals throughout their time in school, and helps to keep them on track with their requirements for attendance, academics, and overall school performance. All school and student programs are monitored by the Future Professional Advisor. Additionally, he or she creates and manages the education calendar, the clinic floor staffing calendar, and the annual team education training calendar. He or she maintains consistency with the school's polices and systems, provides support for students and staff, and game plans for improvement when necessary.

What We Are Looking For

While the Future Professional Advisor is not a professional counselor and cannot counsel Future Professionals on issues that require a professional agency or licensed counselor, the ideal candidate will have a strong advising and/or education background. This position requires passion, strong organizational and communications skills, a high level of commitment, and the ability to guide and motivate others.

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Experience in a cosmetology school is preferred
  • Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills
  • Skills in supervision, teamwork, and documentation
  • Solid work history with verifiable references
  • Passion for the beauty industry
  • Honesty and professionalism
