The Role

The Lear 60 Captain is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience with a continued safety record second to none on every flight. As the face of Jetvia, the Captain provides technically accurate and safe transportation while delivering an exceptional service experience for our guests. The Captain is expected to be an aviator and service provider who maintains a professional demeanor and full command of the aircraft at all times. This is a home-based position; no relocation is required.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off, and landing per FAA guidelines and Jetvia Standard Operating Practices (SOPs)
  • Conducts thorough flight planning, including weather reviews at destination, en route, and alternate airports
  • Calculates and reviews aircraft weight and balance, fuel planning, and performance data
  • Greets guests pre-flight, provides safety briefings, and verifies itineraries while providing weather updates
  • Acts as the final authority (Pilot in Command) on the aircraft regarding all areas of operation and regulatory compliance
  • Supervises and directs the First Officer and coordinates the functions of all assigned crew members
  • Serves as the Inflight Security Coordinator and represents Jetvia when dealing with executive clients and charter partners
  • Maintains the aircraft's professional appearance and ensures all pre-flight inspections are performed
  • Communicates maintenance discrepancies to the appropriate channels and completes all required paperwork accurately

Qualifications

  • Required
    • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
    • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
    • Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time with 500 hours multi-engine time
    • Lear 60 Type Rating with 300 hours Lear 60 PIC
    • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Physically able to perform all duties related to aircraft operation and passenger service
    • Ability to work varying hours including days, nights, weekends, and rotating holidays
    • Live within driving distance of Jetvia Crew Bases
      ATL, AUS, BNA, BOS, BWI, CLT, DAL,DCA, DEN, DFW, ELP, EWR, FLL, HOU, IAD, IAH, JFK, LAS, LAX, LGA, MDW, MIA, MSP, OAK, ORD, PBI, PHL, PHX, SAT, SEA, SFO, SLC, STL.
  • Preferred
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3,000 hours total time and 1,000 hours multi-engine time
    • Previous Part 135 operational experience as Pilot in Command
