Job description

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per quarter
As part of Technology, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking initiatives that shape New York Life's digital landscape. Leverage cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI to increase productivity, streamline processes, and create seamless experiences for clients, agents, and employees. Your expertise fuels innovation, agility, and growth - driving the company's success.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Associate Platform Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to support, enhance, and maintain the LeanIX Enterprise Architecture platform. This role ensures LeanIX operates as a trusted, scalable system-of-record for New York Life's application portfolio, enabling accurate architectural insights and informed decision-making across the enterprise.
This position engineers, operates, and evolves integrations between LeanIX and key enterprise systems such as ServiceNow, Apptio, ACA Risk Rating, and downstream consumers. By establishing LeanIX as the authoritative source-of-truth for application and architecture data, this role directly supports portfolio rationalization, technology risk management, cost transparency, and strategic planning initiatives.
You will partner closely with enterprise architects, application owners, platform teams, and integration engineers to automate data ingestion, reduce manual data maintenance, and ensure data quality through governance and attestation processes. Success in this role requires a strong blend of platform engineering expertise, integration experience, and operational discipline. Your work will directly enable architectural maturity, risk reduction, and improved enterprise-wide technology decisions.
What You'll Do:
As a member of the Enterprise Service Management team, your primary focus will be to support the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the LeanIX platform. In addition, you will:
  • Administer, configure, and maintain the LeanIX platform, including fact sheets, meta-model configuration, relationships, lifecycle states, and reporting views.
  • Design, build, and operate integrations between LeanIX and enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Apptio, ACA Risk Rating, and other downstream systems.
  • Leverage API-based integrations, including those built or orchestrated through MuleSoft, to enable reliable, scalable data exchange.
  • Automate data ingestion, synchronization, validation, and reconciliation processes to minimize manual updates and improve data reliability.
  • Provide break/fix support, troubleshooting platform and integration issues, and resolving data inconsistencies.
  • Execute annual and periodic attestation exercises to validate application ownership, lifecycle, risk, and architectural data.
  • Monitor platform health, data completeness, and integration performance, proactively identifying data gaps, drift, or failures.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, application owners, ServiceNow teams, and integration teams to onboard new applications and ensure consistent data alignment across platforms.
  • Contribute to platform governance, including data standards, lifecycle definitions, tagging conventions, and documentation to ensure scalability and compliance.
  • Support dashboards, reports, and insights that enable application portfolio management, architectural planning, and technology risk assessment.

What You'll Bring:
You bring hands-on experience administering LeanIX and operating enterprise platforms that serve as systems-of-record. You are comfortable working across complex, federated IT environments and understand how architecture, operational, and financial data intersect across the enterprise.
You are methodical, detail-oriented, and energized by opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve platform operations. Whether resolving an integration failure, supporting an attestation cycle, or enhancing data quality, you approach challenges with curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset. A strong appreciation for governance, data integrity, and architectural transparency will set you apart.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering LeanIX in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting API-based integrations, including experience with MuleSoft or similar integration platforms.
  • Experience integrating LeanIX with systems such as ServiceNow, Apptio, or other portfolio, CMDB, or financial management platforms.
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, and scripting or automation using technologies such as JavaScript or Python.
  • Strong understanding of application architectures, application lifecycle management, and application portfolio management concepts.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance, data quality, and attestation processes.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB and familiarity with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise integrations and downstream data consumers.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and architecture portfolio management practices.
  • Experience working in regulated, large-scale, or highly governed enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
