Job description

Position Overview
Responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for metal machining operations. Works closely with machinists, operators, and management to improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure product quality, and support continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Mazatrol, G-Code, and M-Code.
  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, GD&T requirements, tooling, feeds, and speeds to develop machining processes.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and refine CNC programs to eliminate errors and improve performance.
  • Develop setup sheets, process documentation, work instructions, and in-process drawings/photos.
  • Support machinists and operators with machine setup, program execution, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct tooling evaluations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure production meets quality and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement Lean and continuous improvement practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • 2+ years of CNC programming experience using CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Mazatrol).
  • Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, verticals, and horizontal machining centers.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or certification in CNC Machining/Programming.
  • Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, and Osai controls.
  • Swiss machining/programming experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a machine shop environment.
