Job description

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the AI-driven transformation of how the Learning Design and Development (LDD) team creates, manages, and delivers learning content. This role exists to fundamentally rethink how learning is built - using AI to generate content, enforce quality standards, close learning gaps against role profiles, and compress design timelines from months to days.
You will take ownership of foundational work already underway - a modular content ecosystem, AI-enabled workflows, and capability-based learning standards - and accelerate it from prototype to production-ready, AI-native operations. This role is one of two enabling functions that span all three LDD organizational pillars (Learning Design & Journey Architecture, Content Operations & Quality, and Learning Innovation) - you own the AI-powered infrastructure and systems that make them work as one integrated engine.
Your work directly enables GOLD's unified architecture - building the infrastructure and content engine layers that cross-functional teams depend on to deliver learning at scale. This is a transformation leadership role: you will challenge the status quo, model what AI-first work looks like, and pull LDD and GOLD into the future of learning design.
Key job responsibilities
- Reimagine how learning content is built - by applying AI to fundamentally compress design and production cycles - replacing manual, sequential processes with AI-native workflows that produce, review, quality-check, and iterate on content in days, not months.
- Own the requirements and strategic direction for LDD's centralized AI-accessible content repository - including metadata standards, taxonomy frameworks, version control, and governance tooling - partnering with enterprise product teams and technical partners to translate those requirements into a production-ready build designed for AI-first content creation, retrieval, and assembly.
- Design and deploy AI systems that enforce quality at scale - building automated governance, verification loops, and quality gates that ensure content meets standards without relying on manual review, and that proactively identify learning gaps against role profiles and capability requirements.
- Lead AI adoption and capability-building across the LDD team - by modeling AI-first behaviors daily, coaching designers to build their own production-ready AI workflows, and creating the playbooks, templates, and systems that make AI-enabled work the default across all three organizational pillars.
- Drive cross-platform integration strategy across enterprise learning systems - (LMS, talent ecosystems, content management platforms), translating LDD's AI-enabled content architecture into scalable technical requirements and coordinating execution with enterprise technology partners.
- Operate with radical speed and a bias for action - measuring progress in days and weeks, not months. Thrive in ambiguity, build while learning, deliver working outputs iteratively, and ground infrastructure decisions in real user needs by validating assumptions with designers, program teams, and learners before scaling.
- Challenge existing processes and question whether they should exist - bringing fresh perspective to legacy workflows, proposing AI-native alternatives that eliminate categories of manual work, and helping the team see what's possible when AI is the starting point for content creation, governance, and delivery.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale
- Experience using content management systems and content tools
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools, Lean techniques, PMP or similar standards preferred
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects, or experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or a similar field
- Deep, demonstrated AI proficiency: you build production-ready AI workflows - not just use AI tools. You have designed automated processes, created reusable AI systems for team-wide adoption, integrated AI into operational workflows, and measurably changed how work gets done through AI enablement.
