Salary: $16.46 minimum - determined with education and relevant experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
(Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
  • Work with building staff, students, and families to promote productive student behavior and engagement in learning tied to the 7 Habits of Leader in Me
  • Enhance climate and culture utilizing the 7 Habits
  • Connect LIM habits with PBIS, Second Step, BoysTown, and DCSD Behavior Guidance
  • Support identified students to teach and reinforce social skills through LIM, PBIS, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with staff using developmentally appropriate practices
  • Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to assist in managing behavior
  • Develop and maintain documentation and data collection to determine effectiveness of interventions
  • Communicate student progress with staff, students, and families
  • Assist with daily activities and routines of students
  • Model enthusiasm, patience, and flexibility
  • Implement building and district level initiatives
  • Help plan and deliver appropriate professional development
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal

Physical Requirements of Position:
  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
  • Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.
  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
  • Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
